If you are surprised that the San Jose Sharks are at the top of their division, then you haven’t been watching the NHL very much recently. At the moment, the team is 18-6-4, an impressive record for this time of the season. They haven’t needed any work to get into a rhythm this year

Shaq has been out for more than 5 games with a strained shoulder over the last few weeks. He strained it during a game and has had to sit out while he gets better. Meanwhile, he seems to be back in shape, according to the coach, though he won’t be playing full games right off the bat

After a long time in the desert, the Ottawa Senators are finally living up to a high potential that people haven’t seen from them in many years. They beat the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday, on some outstanding play from their goalie and a clutch goal with about 6 minutes remaining. This brings the Senators all the way ahead of the Boston Bruins in the Northeast Division.

By Chris Sheridan As the New Jersey Nets get ready to play the Sacramento Kings tonight — probably their last, best chance (since they play the Lakers next) to avoid tying the NBA record of 17 consecutive losses to start a season, it’s worthwhile to take a look back at this Noxious November and point out three games that got away from the Nets. If just one of those games had gone the other way, Lawrence Frank’s job wouldn’t be hanging by a thread, and Kurt Rambis would be the league leader in having to accept responsibility on a daily/nightly basis for his team’s brutal record.
