Marbury v. Knicks

Stephon Marbury has been directed not to take part in New York Knicks practice or games until further notice, after he and his representative were unable to come to an agreement with the team regarding a buyout of his contract. Marbury and the Knicks have been having a lot of trouble with each other lately.

Hampton to Houston

Pitcher Mike Hampton has reportedly signed a deal with the Houston Astros to play there for the next year. His base salary will probably be about $2million plus incentives

Power Ranked

The ESPN Power Rankings are out and the teams have stayed about the same. There aren’t any big surprises and the rankings seem to be about right. At #1 are the San Jose Sharks who have won 20 games this season, including against some very good teams.

You may have heard that old Yankee Stadium is no more, to be replaced next year by new Yankee Stadium. 2008 being the last year of old Yankee Stadium, a bevy of books was published commemorating the House that Ruth Built. One of the best is Harvey Frommer’s tome, Remembering Yankee Stadium (published by Stewart, Tabori, and Chang)
